Cookie Notice
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Kite only uses cookies that make the site work. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing here tracks you across other websites.
The cookies we use
| Name | What it’s for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
wn_session | Keeps you logged in. Only a scrambled value is stored on our side. | Until you log out, or up to 7 days (12 hours for administrators) |
wn_code | Holds your place while you enter a code from your email. | 15 minutes |
wn_oauth | Protects a Google or Apple sign-in from being hijacked. | 10 minutes |
wn_oauth_new | Remembers who you are while you finish signing up with Google or Apple. | 30 minutes |
wn_tz | Remembers your time zone, so times show correctly. | 1 year |
kite_ref | Remembers a friend’s referral link, so they get credit if you join Kite Plus. | 60 days |
wn_cookie_notice | Remembers that you’ve seen the cookie notice. | 1 year |
Google and Apple
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, you go to their website for that step, and their own cookie and privacy rules apply there. They don’t set cookies on Kite.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block them, you won’t be able to log in, because Kite needs a cookie to know it’s you.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we’ll update this notice and our Privacy Policy, and ask for your choice first where the law requires it.
