Accessibility
Everyone should be able to use Kite, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or other assistive tools. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we do
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the content.
- Pages use real headings, labels and landmarks, so screen readers can make sense of them.
- Charts come with a written description of what they show.
- Text can be resized, and pages work on small screens without scrolling sideways.
- Movement stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Error messages say what went wrong, and color is never the only way something is shown.
- We test pages with automated accessibility checks and by using them with a keyboard.
What we’re still working on
We haven’t yet had an outside audit, or testing with people who rely on assistive tools every day. Automated checks can’t catch everything, so some problems may remain. Tell us about them, because that’s how they get fixed.
Report a problem
Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. A person will read it. If you need something from Kite in a different format, or need help completing a step, ask here or email support@getkite.education.
